I think that in the past people used to shop only for necessities without buying any luxury items. However, at present, because they see ads all the time on social media, that makes them more encouraged to buy more items or products that they may not need. I think also with the emergence of online shopping, people tend to shop more because it’s faster and more convenient and they can order any items to be delivered to their home, which made the whole shopping process more suitable, I think, for them.
