The diagram delineates two ways of how to protect houses in areas which are prone to flooding. Overall, the anti flooding building can be divided into two types regarded by it’s area form: area with a stopbank that prevent 100-year flood level of sea water, and area without stopbank that use different approach when making the building.

For the first type, the houses are safe due to a stopbank that block water from ocean. Houses are built with more distance from stopbank and still need protection from flood because internal runoff like rain. That is why the buildings still need strong stalks to make them raised higher than internal ponding level.

The second type focuses on protecting the houses from 100-year flood level of sea water. It needs calculation about how high ocean water could rise from ground level. It means strong and long stalks are needed to raise the buildings even higher and should make sure there is still 300 mm freeboard from ponding level to house floor level.

The diagram illustrates the process of converting seawater into drinking water through desalination. Overall, there are seven key steps and the use of various machines, with seawater being consumed through an intake system and then returned to the ocean.

Initially, seawater is carefully drawn into the intake. From there, it is transferred to screening, followed by pretreatment. This pretreatment is crucial because it prepares the water for the reverse osmosis membrane unit, which removes salt and other impurities from the seawater.

After this, the membrane unit is used for post-treatment, ensuring that the water meets drinking water standards and enhancing its quality. The treated drinking water is then supplied to a storage tank for consumers or factories.

Furthermore, an outlet tunnel is constructed for the pretreatment units and the reverse osmosis membrane unit. This setup allows water to be continuously transferred, ensuring that the concentrated seawater is safely returned to the ocean. This process helps maintain water levels in the river and supports the continuation of the cycle.
