The graph shows urban population percentages in the Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia from 1970 to 2040. In 1970, the Philippines led with 35%, followed by Malaysia (30%), Thailand (15%), and Indonesia (10%). By 1990, the Philippines reached 50%, Malaysia 45%, Thailand 30%, and Indonesia 25%. Projections for 2040 place Malaysia first at 85%, then Indonesia (60%), the Philippines (55%), and Thailand (50%). The graph shows that the urban population among the countries is rising over time. Although they all have had different rates of urbanization, which indicates that the most urbanized Asian country is Malaysia. Malaysia is well-known for its beaches, rainforests, animal husbandry, and a mix of cultural influences. Malaysia is one of the fastest-growing economies in the Asia-Pacific region, with relatively high-income levels, and social media usage statistics in Malaysia in 2023 reflect this. Malaysia’s annual social media user growth was pegged at 2.3 million new users in 2021-22. Given the already high internet and social media penetration in the country, this is a remarkable growth figure. Malaysia has a mature and well-developed social media ecosystem. The user base has been active and growing since the early days of social networks. The country is well on track to having close to 99% of the population online in the not-too-distant future. The second most urbanized country is the Philippines. The nation is known around the world for its stunning beaches, fabulous wildlife, and near-ubiquitous nurses. As of 2015, the Philippines has a population of at least one hundred million people and is the 8th most populated country in Asia and the 12th most populated country on Earth. The Philippines in the 1990s was well-known for many insanely popular singers, earthquakes, and later on, eruptions in 1991.
