    I strongly agree with the statement because more leisure time is needed to increase the labor power of the workers. Even in the age of neoliberal capitalism, there are many activists who are demanding a longer weekend for workers.

    In the developed countries where workers enjoy a longer weekend, it has been observed that longer leisure time for the workers increases the wellbeing of a community. If workers get a longer weekend, they will be able to enjoy the fruits of their labor, which are otherwise appropriated by the capitalist classes. Karl Marx famously elaborated on how the capitalist classes appropriate the labor of workers. If workers are given a longer weekend, they can enhance their technological skills, which will increase their productivity. Moreover, they will get enough time for networking, which will increase their soft skills. Additionally, they will get enough time to educate their children. In his seminal work “The Nights of Labor”, French philosopher Jacques Ranciere shows how workers can educate themselves by using their free time.     Firstly, long working hours lead to negative consequences, particularly on employees’ lives. Due to long working hours, workers face many psychological disorders such as anxiety and depression. In addition to that, people cannot go to therapy, and it reduces their motivation and energy. In addition, employees become unproductive and inefficient. When people work less, it increases their well-being and quality of life.

    Another reason why I agree with this statement is workers can spend their free time with their families. These days, a large proportion of people work almost 6 days a week. In addition to that, they bring their job responsibilities to their houses. Due to extra working hours, people lack time, and they spend significant time on job-related tasks. Furthermore, many employees cannot attend family gatherings due to working along the days and weeks.

    On the other hand, many people are against this statement due to making profit. Many companies need a workforce to sustain their businesses. If the working week is shorter, companies will not make a profit. Many countries, such as China and Japan, offer several incentives and promotions to attract people for working during the week. I believe that technology companies can solve this problem through artificial intelligence tools, and many people can reduce their work time.

    In conclusion, although many people think that shorter working hours can cause lower profit among companies, I disagree. I believe that the working week should consist of fewer days with longer weekends, so employees can improve mental well-being and spend time with families.

Universally, the work shift time is eight hours, and the weekend is two days, so I find this suitable for individuals to do their work accurately and continue with the rest of their days. I disagree with the assertion to decrease the total work hours and to have a longer weekend.

    Let us begin with the advantages of keeping the current circumstance, where eight hours of work is the minimum and the weekend is two days. For the country to be developed, workers must work certain hours to achieve the government’s and the country’s aims and goals. In addition, when there are standards people need to follow, they will adapt to them and achieve the intended job requirements. As an example, USA civilians tend to work a minimum of nine hours a day to fulfill the job requirements and tasks.

    Nevertheless, minimizing the work hours and having a longer weekend may have some benefits for workers. First, people may become more creative and focused. When individuals are given shorter hours, they will concentrate on doing their job efficiently and effectively. Furthermore, they would have more time to enjoy time with their families, friends, and loved ones, as well as regularly do their hobbies, which will clearly give them the potential to do better at their work.

    Most of the people consider it a better option have to shorter working week, because people will have more time to spend with their family.     To conclude, i firmly believe that working week should consist of fewer days with longer weekend, which not only benefits the employee by keeping them healthy and energetic, but also benefits to the employeer, when the employee is performing and giving their best in return.

    There is no denying the fact that working and having a stable job is crucial for everybody in our society to fulfill their needs. while it is a commonly held belief that working should has fewer hours and a longer weekend, there is also an argument that opposes it. In my opinion I believe that labour hours should be fewer and individuals should spend more free time.

    To begin with, doing fewer hours can increase motivation, productivity, and energy for employees who are not used to work long hours without enough rest and comfort. In other words, they can be more efficient and productive in their work environment, and do a better performance if they have a shorter week. In addition, having a longer weekend can enhance their mentality and improve their psychological health. For example, in Japan, employees suffer a lot and are not mentally stable due to long work hours, while in The United States they are happier and healthier because they have less stress.

    Another point to consider is that workers with shorter hours can spend enough time with their family members and friends. It is also possible to say that having a longer weekend period can enhance their social lives by spending more leisure time on their favourite activities. Moreover, employees doing their preferred activities feel more comfortable and pleased more than those who don’t. For instance, when I do the hobbies I like, I can make greater efforts in my working days and I do my tasks effectively

    To sum up, there are no easy answers to this question. On balance, however, I tend to believe that laborers and employees deserve more respect and support and they deserve to have more free time for themselves.

    There have been discussions about making the working week shorter and extending the weekend for employees. I agree with the proposition of shorter working weeks and longer weekeds as it saves resources and increases worker’s morale.

    If the number of working days per week is decreased, it will help organizations to save a lot of resources. Current research has found that, shortening a working week to four days per week from five days per week has very limited influence on worker’s output. As a result, countries such as France, Australia and the United Arab Emirates have changed their weekly working days from 5 days to 4 and a half or 4 days. This facilitates in the saving of resources such as electricity, catering and transport by corporations. In short, smaller working weeks benefit organizations by saving their resources.

    Additionally, longer weekends keep the employees’ spirits high in work place resulting in higher efficiencies. If employees get extended weekends, they get more time for relaxing. This assists in reducing worker’s mental fatigue and boosting their ambition. For instance, a worker who gets shorter weekends abhors the idea of getting back to work on Monday while a worker who has enjoyed a longer weekend has higher spirits for work. As a result, workers with extended weekends generate more benefit for their employers in comparison to workers with shorter weekends. Some might argue that, longer weekends and shorter work weeks can cause loss of profits for corporations as human resources are not utilized for longer times. However, it should be noticed that overstressing employees can result in disdain by employees towards employers. Thus, the benefits of longer weekends and shortwer work weeks outweigh their demerits.

    To summarize, I am in agreement with reducing work weeks and extending weekends for employees as it is beneficial for corporations in terms of reduced resource requirement and higher worker efficiency.
