I believe that public transportation should be, or at least, much cheaper. There are several reasons for this. First of all, free public transport would help people save money, especially students and people with low incomes. Secondly, if buses and trains were free, people would probably use them instead of private cars. As a result, there would be fewer cars on the roads, which could reduce traffic congestion and air pollution. However, I understand that making public transportation completely free could be expensive for governments. They would need to spend a lot of money on maintaining buses and trains and paying workers. And it also could lead to overcrowding, as free transport would attract more people. And this might reduce the quality of service.
