I like to talk about pigeons, which are very common in most cities around the world, including my own. They are medium-sized birds with grey feathers. Some have a mix of colors like white and brown. Their most distinctive features are their small heads, stout bodies, and the iridescent feathers, which shimmer in shades of green and purple when they play in sunlight. They have short legs, and you often see them waddling around busy streets or parks, effortlessly navigating through crowds of people. In my city, they are practically everywhere on building ledges, parks, sidewalks, and even near restaurants. They thrive in urban environments because they can easily scavenge for food, especially with the abundance of leftover crumbs from human activity. You often find them gathered in public squares where people sometimes feed them, despite it not being encouraged by authorities. What I like about pigeons is their adaptability. They have evolved to live alongside humans, thriving in environments that are far removed from their natural habitats. They are also surprisingly fast flyers and can travel great distances. However, one thing I don't particularly like is that they can become numerous, often creating messes in public spaces and contributing to issues with hygiene. Some people see them as pests because of this. In general, people in my city have mixed feelings about pigeons. Some view them as part of the urban landscape, while others find their presence a problem due to their mess and the noise they create. Nevertheless, pigeons have become so integrated into city life that it's hard to imagine urban spaces without them. They have become an enduring symbol of city living, despite the occasional annoyance they might cause.
