Yes, I do think animals benefit from living in a zoo. First, zoos have man-made environments that simulate the natural environment of animals. And this environment is more predictable and also better for animals to live in, so that the workers there can see how the animal is and their health conditions, which give them the opportunity to take care of the animals. And second, some animals have lost their natural habitat so that they can only live in man-made environments like in the zoos. So the zoos are actually protecting the animals. And third, companies can benefit from the zoos. So they can profit from visitors, which can also promote the local economy. And at last, zoos gave people the opportunity to look at some rare animals, which also gives them more knowledge about them, and so that people can learn about those animals more and enhance their understanding of how some endangered animals' situations really are. And this can also help protect animals that are endangered.

Animals benefit from living in a zoo. Do you agree?

No, I do not believe animals benefit from living in a zoo. Zoos are quite cruel to animals, to be honest, because they take them out of their natural habitat. And they also force them to act as entertainment for some children. For example, there’ll be some special shows with elephants, potentially even tigers. However, […]

I firmly stand on the negative side. Animals do not benefit from living in a zoo. Those often cause physical, psychological and behavioral harm to animals. Captivity restricts natural behaviors and cause severe psychological distress. For example, elephants walk up to 50 km a day in the wild in a zoo. They may spend their […]
