Well, in my opinion, I think that the hospital cannot function properly without the presence of a nurse. This is evidence because most of the clinics in my country, Kenya, they are run by nurses and doctors, they are not needed in such. Some functions of the nurse include debriefing the patient and it involves holistic care, whereby it involves physical and mental well-being of a patient. The nurse is responsible for feeding the patient when the patient is unable to feed themselves and taking care of themselves like bathing the patient, offering hygiene to the patient. And also the mental part whereby the nurse can turn to the mental well-being of the patient in cases of loss, grief, or in cases where the patient is experiencing terminal illness. The nurse will come in handy to provide moral support. The nurse is the first contact of the patient and the doctors rely on nurses to be briefed about the progress of the patient.
