So I am not a person who loves reading books, but I sometimes do. Recently, when I was not doing anything, I mean, I was jobless at that time, my wife suggested a book named A Thousand Splendid Suns, which was written by Khaled Hosseini. The book is about the lives of people living in Afghanistan. The writer has explained the lifestyle of Afghan people before and after the war. It is mentioned that the lives of people in Afghanistan have drastically changed during the time of the Taliban and after America took over. The people are living in fear. There is no freedom, especially for women. They don't have any choices. They can't go out without a male family member. They can't wear makeup, and they can't go shopping. It seems the lives of women were so miserable back then. After America took over in 2001, Afghanistan became more like a democratic country. After that, everyone enjoyed freedom, and for about 20 years, Afghanistan was under the control of the US army. Then again, as soon as we reached 2022, the Taliban came back and took charge of the country, and again they returned to the same situation as before. I really enjoyed reading this book because I love exploring different things happening around the world. I love to know about geopolitics, and I really enjoyed reading this book.
