Well, a few months ago I really had to listen to one of the well-known poets in our country. He visited our school and gave a rather drawn-out speech about his career and work, and the lecture was held in our assembly hall. Looking back, it was not a terrible experience, but it was definitely not my cup of tea. Our headmaster didn't allow us to use our mobile devices, and even when we chatted with each other to break the monotony, he told us off several times. Additionally, since I was not really into poetry, the lecture seemed mind-numbing, and I don't think it was not tedious for all people, as even our literature teachers seemed so disengaged. After a while, I started to panic because I felt like I was wasting my time, and not only me but also my other classmates started to zone out. All we could do was just count the minutes or play with our invitation papers, as we had nothing to do other than that. At the end of the day, I felt too restless. The lecture left us mentally drained. However, immediately after that event, we felt a sense of relief and headed home. On our way home, we had a quick chat about the lecture, and all of my friends said things like, we should not have had to listen to the speech, but we did. It was horrible, and I immediately started to support their feedback.
