One of the most difficult decisions I have ever had to make was choosing subjects that will influence my future career. At the time I felt that I am standing at a closed road because choosing subjects that will shape my future was very stressful and difficult. There were four main options, physics, biology, chemistry and computer science. They all had their own advantages and opened doors to different fields. The main problem was that I was interested in more than one of them. However, I was not alone and I have guided by my father and professional career counselor my father played the key role because his deep knowledge and carefulness significantly affected my choice. He never imposed his opinion on me but he asked me right questions to look at things at long-term perspectives and he encouraged me to seem critically. Finally, my career counselor also played a role in helping me to understand the future demands of each profession and knowing what skills will be needed in the future. Finally, I decided to study biology and chemistry and I satisfied with my decision. I am very grateful to my father and career counselor. I think that difficult decisions will undoubtedly be helpful in the future.
