National Education Day or Haripnidika National in Indonesia is a holiday where all people of Indonesia, including especially students and teachers, celebrate about knowledge and education. This holiday takes place in May 2nd, which means in this year it’s last Saturday. And the person who started this holiday is Kihaja Dewantara. He is the founder of the Tamansiswa Education Ministry. Also there is a quote to this holiday which is Tutguri Hande Yani which means that we should learn others by mentoring and coaching. And this holiday is very important to us and me because I am a student because there are so many children in Indonesia that can’t have access to equal education. Which means that the kids who live in underdeveloped areas that didn’t have enough electricity or internet can’t access the internet to gain any knowledge or find information. And a lot of these underdeveloped areas also don’t have schools. Some do have schools but they are very broken down and they have not been upgraded or repaired anything like that. And so by celebrating National Education Day, we encourage that all people of the world should get equal rights to free education, free access of information from the internet.
