Well, I would like to tell you a little bit about a food that people eat on special occasions. Most of our traditional Uzbek meals are reserved for special occasions, but if I had to pick one that really stands out, it would have to be palov. It is hands down the most popular dish in our country and you'll find it at almost every celebration. People prefer to eat palov on important days like birthday parties, wedding days or any other festive gatherings. It's kind of the go-to dish when we want to mark a special event. Making palov is actually pretty straightforward. You start with carrots and rice, the key ingredients. First, you fry all the ingredients together in a big pot, add rice, some water and wait for it to come to a boil. After that you put in the rice and let it cook for about 10 minutes. And that's it, it's ready to eat. The reason it's so special is partly because it is easy to cook and absolutely delicious compared to other dishes, but honestly I think it is also deeply rooted in our culture as a tradition. It has been eaten on special days for generations and that sense of heritage makes it even more meaningful.
