We are incredibly proud of our liberation war that led to our independence from Pakistan in 1971. It took place from March 26th to December 16th. A significant aspect of this period is that we tragically lost approximately 3 million people who were killed by the Pakistan army. Additionally, around 300,000 women were raped during this time. There is a significant amount of controversy in the history of our liberation war. Actually, the Pakistan government tried to suppress the struggle for our freedom. Finally, on December 16th, the Pakistan military forces surrendered to the joint Bangladesh and Indian military forces. The surrender was signed by Niazi on behalf of Pakistan and Jagat Singh on behalf of Bangladesh. This was a significant day. If I had the opportunity to witness a historical event, I would choose our liberation war. Any moment in the liberation war is joyful for us Bangladeshis. This is a proud moment in our history, and it is essential to remember the sacrifices made during this time.
