Okay, my most memorable holiday I ever had was a trip with my high school friends to the Baltic Sea. It was the first time we were able to take a trip together since we just graduated high school and had all the time in the world, all the energy in the world, and also we were finally old enough to drive a car by ourselves. One of my closest friends has a vacation home at the Baltic Sea. His family owns it and they get to rent it up to two weeks per year. And that is exactly what we did. We rented it out for two weeks. It was a group of, I think, six people, six of my closest high school friends that traveled together by car in two different cars there. We did a lot of things. During the mornings, we tended to sleep in and make breakfast together with great having no responsibilities while simultaneously no parental supervision. So a lot of the household, smaller responsibilities you don’t usually notice that fell on our shoulders, obviously. During the day, we had, you know, kind of outings here and there, went to a cave here, went into the ocean there, to the sea, excuse me, and watched the birds fly through the sky as we had a picnic on a cliff. It was great. It was very memorable. A lot of us were in a very formative stage trying to find ourselves there. So a lot of the time was spent in silence, just sitting next to each other after a hike, watching the waves wash over the rocky sand, the rocky beach, and each contemplating their own future. In the evenings, we would then obviously go back to the house, stock up on alcohol and play social board games. Also, very long into the night. Sometimes we would make spinny dips at night, a very adventurous thing to do. But a lot of the time was also spent discussing what we contemplated during the day. And I think most of us experienced significant personal growth during the time, finally deciding what to do with ourselves and our future and facing some fears and confronting some inner demons. It was great.
