I would like to talk about a time when I shared a personal secret with my best friend. This happened about a year ago when I was feeling quite engrossed about my future career paths and my studies. The person I shared it with was my classmate who is also my closest friend. I have known him for a long time and I knew he was someone I could really own completely. I decided to tell him because I was feeling very stressed and needed some objective advice. At the time I hadn’t told anyone in my family because I didn’t to cause them any unnecessary worry keeping the secret was becoming too difficult so I felt that talking to a friend would help me feel better and find a solution. The moment I told him I felt a good sense of relief as if a weight was lifted off my shoulders. Sharing this secret definitely is transcendent our bond and created a deeper sense of trust. I believe that being open like this proves how much you value a friend’s loyalty. I also have opinions that sharing secrets can be risky, but it is also a way to bring people closer. However, keeping secrets is the key to maintaining trust in any relationship. I believe we should only share personal things with people who are truly trustworthy.
