It’s a west mountainous region in the southwest part of the country, known for dense forests, charming villages and fairytale-like atmosphere. The name comes from the thick canopy of evergreen trees that makes the forest almost black from a distance. I have seen pictures and documentaries about it and it looks absolutely breathtaking. There are tall pine trees stretching for miles, winding hiking trails, crystal clear lakes and traditional wooden cottages scattered throughout the area. It’s a kind of place where you can completely disconnect from the peace, the disconnect from the fast pace of their life and enjoy the peace of nature. If I ever get the chance there, I would probably visit travel there by train from a nearby city like Frankfurt and Stuttgart. Germany also has a well-connected and efficient public transport system, so getting there wouldn’t be difficult. Once I arrive, I would love to spend a few days hiking and then visiting small towns and maybe even staying in a long cabin. The reason I want to visit the Black Forest is not only because of its natural beauty, but also because it feels like a place where it could relax and recharge. I have always been drawn to forests because they bring a sense of calm and balance and the Black Forest seems like the perfect destination for that. Of course, also it has a rich cultural history and local traditions which makes it even more fascinating.
