One place I visited where the air was polluted is Ho Chi Minh City, where I currently live. Although it is a vibrant and exciting city, air pollution is a major issue, especially in busy areas. I experienced poor air quality almost every day, but one time I noticed it the most was last year during the dry season. The air felt heavy, and there was a visible layer of smoke in the sky. I was in Gava District near a crowded intersection, and I could smell the exhaust fumes from cars and motorbikes. The combination of traffic congestion, construction projects, and emissions makes the air quality quite bad. The main reason for the pollution is the large number of vehicles on the road. Since motorbikes and cars release a lot of emissions, the air becomes thick with dust and fumes, especially during rush hours. Additionally, the lack of strong winds in the city can cause the pollution to linger. Being in that environment made me feel uncomfortable; the air smelled unpleasant, and I even felt a bit of irritation in my throat and eyes. It made me realize how important clean air is for our health and well-being. While I love living in Ho Chi Minh City, I do wish the air quality could be improved with more green spaces and better public transportation to reduce pollution.
