So a week ago I watched an Indian movie called Sultan for probably the 20th time and that should tell you a bit about how interesting I find it. The movie talks about the rise and fall of a very simple man and his determination to rise again and there are many things that make this movie interesting to me. First of the movie doesn’t get old, it doesn’t get boring, it doesn’t get repetitive and there are many reasons for that. So to begin with the story and the main character are very very relatable to everyone who watches the movie because we all have been through the epsom flows of life, we have all experienced success, we have suffered failure and maybe after such failure some people do not have the desire to rise again or maybe to put effort into something that may be successful. The movie gives you that motivation through a man that doesn’t have many talents or much ability but still manages to make it. The second thing is the lead actor’s performance. Now Sultan is portrayed by Zaman Khan who is a mega star in a mega star but he usually opts for entertaining movies rather than movies with deep subjects or strong topics to discuss and he’s more of an entertainer than an actor, that’s what he usually opts for, but in that movie he gives a formidable performance, very very touching, very simple but yet again as I said relatable you can see that he’s putting everything he has in that role, It came as a surprise to everyone who is a fan of Samaritan because as I said he doesn’t usually give such performances. So yeah once I watched this movie it became a staple. I don’t go maybe a month or two without watching it because it does still have an impact.
