I am a learner. I never get tired of gaining new skills. I feel it gives me strength, and it emboldens new development within me. I have learned numerous skills throughout my life and have inculcated each in various aspects of my life, making it easier and more convenient. Today, I would like to talk about a skill that I learned during my childhood, for which I feel extremely grateful as it has helped me in my current days and will continue to help me in the future. The skill is cooking. As a child, I had always seen my mom making delicious meals and decorating them with coriander or milk-made sweets, and cooking beautiful desserts. Every time I ate her meals, I felt inner satisfaction and a sense of pleasure. The meals were mouth-watering. One day, out of the blue, I had a random thought that why couldn't I cook like her? I wanted to cook like her, and I was determined to learn. So, when I was around twelve or thirteen years old, I told my mom that I wanted to learn cooking just like she did. She was so happy; her smile completely expressed her inner feelings, she was half elated after hearing this. She told me she would teach me. Every morning, I used to wake up early before going to school at around 9 o'clock. I would wake up at 7 o'clock and observe her cooking. After about 10 days, she let me touch the stove, but with all the necessary protective measures since she knew I was still a child. I was over the moon during the learning experience, and after I mastered the skill, oh my god, I cannot tell you how I made a dish called Daldo, an authentic Gujarati dish. I cooked it and everyone in my house loved the taste. I felt so joyful and happy that I had learned this skill, which would also help me in my future studies abroad.
