During high school and middle school, I was very awkward and I was not a very social person. But I know that I was lonely and I was craving human connection. So the skill that I learned unintentionally was to be a good listener. because I know how lonely it feels to be alone and having no one to talk to my motivation was I don’t want anyone to feel that way anytime they were talking to someone so unintentionally I became a good listener I listened I observed their body language and I respond in a way that I would think would make them feel comfortable. So how I learned it, it was basically I was just reflecting what I would need when I’m telling someone my story or how I feel or my thoughts and I would apply it when I was listening to someone. I think it was unintentional because I didn’t know the theories but back during my undergraduate program I learned that what I was doing was one of a technical skill in counseling psychology so that made me feel that I was a natural in psychology sector. It is in me and within me even without knowing what being a good listener is.
