During my third year of undergraduate studies, I found a wallet that was lying on the football field. When I was passing the football field, I noticed something that was a bit yellowish in color. Usually, wallets are brown, but this one was a bit yellow. So I went over for a closer inspection and found that there was some money in the wallet and also an ID card. After seeing that, I thought to myself, what should I do next? It had a lot of money in it, around $300. In my mind, one thought came up: what if I were in a situation where I had lost $300 or $500? It would have impacted my life greatly. I would have been depressed and sad for a couple of weeks. So I thought to myself, why not just return this to the original owner? There was an ID there, but I thought the proper procedure would be to return the wallet to the university authorities' lost and found department. After that, I went to the lost and found department. They took my details, including which year I was studying and which department I was from. They had the identification card. The lost and found department actually has a website where they post a general description of the wallet. If the owner can specify how much money was inside the wallet or what belongings were there, then they will be able to retrieve the wallet or any object that was put in the lost and found. After a couple of days, I was notified by the lost and found department that the original owner was able to retrieve the wallet and wanted to meet me. After some time, I was free the following month, so I met the owner of the wallet, and he took me to a nice place for dinner as a gesture of appreciation for my help.
