I would like to talk about a mistake I made during my first year of college preparation, which eventually taught me one of the most valuable lessons of my life. At that time, I had an important English exam coming up. I believed that I was already good enough, so instead of studying consistently, I kept postponing my preparation. I spent too much time on entertainment and told myself that I could prepare everything at the last minute. Unfortunately, that decision turned out to be a huge mistake. When the exam day arrived, I realized that I was not fully prepared, especially for the writing section. During the test, I felt extremely nervous and struggled to organize my ideas properly. As a result, my performance was much worse than I had expected, and I was deeply disappointed. Initially, I felt frustrated and embarrassed because I knew the failure was entirely due to my own carelessness and poor time management. However, after reflecting on the situation, I understood an important lesson. Success does not come from talent alone; it requires discipline, consistency, and proper planning. Since then, I have completely changed my study habits. I now create study schedules, practice regularly, and avoid leaving important tasks until the last moment. Interestingly, this mistake actually improved my personality because it made me more responsible and mature. Looking back, although it was an unpleasant experience, I am grateful that it happened because it taught me the importance of hard work and self-discipline, which are lessons I will carry throughout my life.
