Well, one time I made a meaningful promise to one of my students. I had been tutoring him in English while he was in grade 9, and he always found English quite challenging at first. To motivate him, I promised that if he scored at least an 8 on his final English test, I would give him a special gift. What's more, I knew that he was really passionate about football, so I told him that I would buy him a quality soccer ball if he achieved his goal. I made that promise because I genuinely wanted to encourage him to study harder and believe in himself. I knew that he had potential, but he lacked a bit of confidence. As for whether it was difficult to keep that promise, honestly, it wasn't hard at all. He finally scored a 9 on his test, which was far beyond what I expected. I was so proud of him, and as promised, I gave him a football as a reward. Seeing how happy and excited he was made the moment really memorable. This experience reminded me of the power of a promise.
