This is a very challenging question for me because I rarely make promises. I think that when we make promises, we already know how hard it would be to maintain our word. However, a few years ago I was studying for a very important exam in my career and I felt very demotivated and without energy to study. During my conversations with God, I asked Him to give me positive aspects to maintain my motivation, and I promised Him that if I passed this test, I wouldn't eat chocolate for one month. So I thought that promise would be fair enough because my challenge was hard and I consider myself a chocoholic person. I eat chocolate every day and I thought it would be very difficult to not eat chocolate. In fact, I passed, and after that I became worried because I knew I needed to keep my promise. At the beginning it was very hard, but I substituted chocolate for something else sweet, just to minimize my craving for chocolate. But from the middle to the end, it became easier. I made that promise because every time I have difficult moments, I talk to God and ask Him to help me, and I always give back. I will always give a promise back in return.
