The significant challenge I think I can think of is my time as a newly hired TA or a teaching assistant. When I first got hired, my department had no TAs left, all of them resigned to go to another college so I had the full responsibility of four TAs combined and I momentarily collapsed under pressure because it required a lot of expertise and readiness and skills. I struggled a lot with public speaking at first and it was a skill that requires a lot of rehearsing and training and I had no time to rehearse or train in a safe environment. I had to go and follow students and teach. So I worked double to elevate my public speaking skill. I saw a lot of videos, I practiced a lot at home. I really had no help from anyone, no guidance sadly but it really elevated my sense of self and my confidence that I overcame this challenge on my own and it made me feel capable of tackling any challenge from now on since I could overcome being publicly humiliated in front of students and survive, I think any other challenge will be less hurtful.
