So I remember the time that I taught someone a new skill, and it was when I was back at home in my country, Colombia. Cali is my city. It's a very poor city, and everyone is always very active and productive. The person I taught this skill to was my friend, Diana. She was from the same city, but she was having some issues trying to improve on a new technique. Judo is a contact sport, and she was a woman, so it was a little tough for her to move a man. The dojo, which is the place where we practice and try new techniques, was full of men. I taught her the Diashibarai movement. Diashibarai is a word in Japanese to describe a movement, but I'm not really sure what it means because I don't speak Japanese fluently. It took me at least one week because she had a lot of questions about some techniques for fighting on the floor with the opponent. You can fight standing up or crawling on the floor with your opponent. After all these weeks, I felt like an expert, and I wasn't a black belt, but I felt like one because it was very tough. She had a lot of questions, and she wasn't in the best position, neuromuscularly speaking. She didn't pull her body properly, so it was a little complicated at the beginning.
