Well, today I’m gonna share with you a very interesting occasion where I have the opportunity to teach 2 very young and bright-minded students about a skill that I am really proud of. And that skill is how to write a body paragraph for the IELTS Writing Task 1 exam. Now this happened roughly 2 months ago when I enrolled in a program about IELTS Writing and due to my previous encounter with the certifications, they assigned me to the positions. These students are roughly about the same age. If I remember correctly, they are in middle school I think, but I didn’t go into detail how old they were. They were roughly a month away from taking the IELTS exam themselves, so they asked me to teach them how to do carry out the body paragraph correctly. Now after quite some time of teaching them, I realized something that very interesting is that most people, especially Vietnamese people, I came from Vietnam by the way, don’t know how to truly describe a paragraph for the readers. For example, I think it has something to do with the difference in languages. In Vietnamese, we usually don’t say the number increased to 5 and dropped down to 50 like that. But in English, these kind of sentences are very new to them, these ideas, how to correctly describe and detail a graph. And when I started teaching them about it, I always told them that, hey, just apart from telling the reader what’s the number, how the number has changed, I specifically told them that we had to describe what the number started at first, then we describe the changes. So like I say, most of them say, okay, the number increased to 5, most of them said that, but I always told them that, hey, you need to start off by the number stood at 0 first, for example, and then it increased to 5. So that kind of whole new idea for them, whole new way of…
