It is located in the state of Andhra Pradesh and although it is an incredibly unique location, not many people have idea about it so it is not usually crowded. At Gandhikota, visitors can see a deep gorge formed by the Pena River, cutting through a massive rocky hills. The view from the top is absolutely breathtaking, especially during the sunrise and sunset. When the sunlight hits the rock, this creates beautiful colours. There is also an ancient temple nearby with old, ancient temples nearby which tells a lot about the region’s history. I think very few people know about Gandhikota mainly because it is not well promoted as a tourist destination. And not only that, it is located quite far from any major city and public transportation is not very much convenient as well. Also, most people tend to choose more popular destinations like Kuti, Kerala when they are planning a trip to South India. But I personally think that Gandhikota is a hidden gem. It is peaceful and touchable by commercialisation and it offers something different from tourist spot. So although not many people might visit it, I think it is truly special place and whenever I visit that place, the scenery is quite amazing and it relaxes me a lot.
