I’ve always found science quite fascinating in one area. Where my understanding is too shallow and I want to understand more is the area that deals with the vaccines. I got particularly interested with the vaccines during the COVID-19 era, where the COVID pandemic took the world by shock. Scientists all over the world tried to find solutions to the pandemic and there were many solutions that were cropping out from different corners of the world. However, as soon as this solution started appearing, controversy also started appearing on the effectiveness and safety of some of these vaccines. We saw the advent of new vaccines that were called RNA against the traditional vaccines which were called the serum vaccines. What particularly makes this topic interesting for me is the controversy itself that arose among the scientists themselves. Scientists do believe that there is supposed to be a minimum period of time for a vaccine to be developed, tested and then eventually administered on humans for it to be certified as fit and safe. Now, in addition to that, there were rumors all over the news that people who got the mRNA vaccine were dying slowly and most of them would be dead in 20 years time. So, this made me wish to understand how exactly do vaccines work, how they are developed and what safety precautions that are supposed to be taken before vaccines are administered to people. Ultimately, it is my wish that governments will take a more proactive role to protect populations and prevent people from unnecessary deaths that arise from such.
