Band 6+: Describe an important river/lake in your country where is it located how big/long it is What it looks like and explain why it is important

I think that one of the most important lakes in my country is the lake called Baikal, which is located in Irkutsk Oblast. I have no idea how big or long it is, but I’m pretty sure that it has a record for its depth. It’s either the deepest lake in the country or on the continent or in the world. I’m not exactly sure, so I’m not gonna lie, but it is very deep. It also has a very unique shape of Half of the Moon, which I’m very glad for, since it is quite easy to find it on maps. It came in handy multiple times during the geography lessons that I had at school. I visited this place then I went to Irkutsk on the coding competition and we had a tour to the Slakes specifically during one of these days. I don’t remember much from that tour but I think that one of the reasons this lake is so important is because it has a lot of clean water that people can drink which is good because it’s not salty and very clean. It has the cleanest water in the world or something. I’m pretty sure that because of this there’s a law that bans building factories around the lake to preserve the ecosystem and prevent water and environmental pollution in the area. I think that this lake has other reasons why it is so important and vital for our country including being very profitable as a touristic place or maybe having some endemic animals there, such as local seals or something like this. I don’t remember how to call them in any language to be honest. So yes, Baikal is a vital lake in Russia and I’m glad that I visited this place at least once in my life.
