Well, today I would like to talk about an old person I know who has had a fascinating life and that person is my grandfather. My grandfather is currently in his early 80s and he is one of the wisest and most inspiring people I have ever known. Actually, I’ve known him for all of my life because I grew up living in the same house with him. We’ve always been close and he would often share with me about his life, especially in the evening when my family get together. In his younger years, he was a teacher, but before that he participated in the resistance war. He used to tell me about how difficult and meaningful those days were. And after the war, he decided to become a teacher, like he always said to be his true calling. His band I kept teaching high school students. He was loved by his students and respected by the entire community. Even now, many of his former students still come to visit him and take him for his guidance. The reason why I think my grandfather’s life is incredibly interesting because he has experienced so many pivotal moments in history. He has stories about the war and the post-war rebuilding period, also about the rapid change of the society over the years. And he’s not just a story teller, but he always know the way to relate his experiences to life lessons. He always tell me about, always remind me to appreciate the peace and opportunity I have today, which is something he never took for granted. So if I had a chance to talk about a person who has really interesting life, I will talk about my grandfather.
