My mother worked in a hospital, a Christian missionary hospital. Many people from different countries, like Germany, would visit their relatives who were patients there. During one of my summer vacations, I went with my mother to her workplace. There was a woman from Germany who was trying to communicate with me in English. I decided to teach her some basic Malayalam, the language spoken in Kerala. She had been living in Kerala for two years but hadn't learned to speak the language. I taught her simple greetings, how to ask about food, and other common phrases. She was very appreciative and even told my mother and the other staff that I was her Malayalam teacher. I felt incredibly proud of myself at that moment. It was a great feeling to be able to share my language with someone from another country, especially since I was fluent in Malayalam. It was a truly proud moment for me.
