I believe that it depends on the person. For example, there are some very anxious people, especially kids, who feel very far away from the status quo; they think they're weird. Sometimes it's not just their feelings; some very mean, rude, ignorant people make them feel that way. Things like bullying and arguing make them anxious and scared of other people, so they start to find support and friends online. But there are still strong people. For example, they could be popular in their local community, so social media is not an obstacle for them. Instead, it boosts their ego. They usually post about themselves and can have online friends, which doesn't stop them from being socially relevant in their real life. In my view, it really depends on your personality, the people around you, and your confidence.

So in my view, in my opinion, it really depends on your personality, on people around you and your confidence.
