To be honest, I feel really annoyed whenever that happens because when I try to watch YouTube, maybe some boring videos, and I receive a pop-up in front of my eyes, it's really annoying. I really don't want to watch that. Also, the ads themselves are not very meaningful to me, and I think this is a bad way for companies to advertise.
