As far as I'm concerned, it's absolutely crucial to set rules, especially if you're working with young students or pupils. They have never been in a situation where there are rules that must be followed. So, as a teacher who wants to control and manage the classroom, you must set a variety of rules. It's even more important than the curriculum and the material that must be covered and taught during that lesson.
