I believe that increasing dependence on technology is affecting face-to-face communication skills in young adults to a greater extent. The constant use of smartphones has affected how the youth communicate with others. It has promoted a lack of confidence when speaking to adults. Moreover, we can also say that the use of smartphones has weakened the bonding and communication within household settings because parents and youth don't usually have conversations. By doing so, there is a lack of know-how on communication skills. It can be said that smartphones are affecting how these young people see each other in public, as they lack knowledge on how to interact or communicate in public or public speaking.
