I personally think it's really important to have a hobby because it is proven that whenever you deal with your problems and they overwhelm you, if you have a hobby and take time to do something that gives you joy, it makes you happy. It reduces stress and engages your mind. You don't think about that problem at that moment. That's why everyone has to take into consideration that they occasionally need to engage in their hobbies, be it playing music, listening to music, dancing, or painting, whatever.
