I personally think that there are a lot of things that should be done in order to build a friendship between two people, but the first thing that comes to my mind when I say the word 'friend' is trust. I think that's the major thing in a friendship. If you do not trust your friend, that's not called friendship anymore. You should have trust in your friend, and that is possible if the two people are loyal to each other and have that sense of responsibility towards each other. The second thing that comes to my mind is expressing feelings. You should be able to express your feelings.
