Based on my knowledge, I think that governments should take responsibility for regulating the algorithms used by social media platforms more. The main reason is that social media is so ubiquitous, and it can have a profound impact on social cohesion, interaction, and people's mood about the policies of a country. For example, there can be a lot of misinformation, and this information should be distilled into well-validated information about events or political matters. So to put it more broadly, I feel that governments should take the lead in regulating these algorithms used by social media.
