There are many benefits and drawbacks to living in an extended family. One advantage could be the fact that these kinds of families last longer in the sense that they don't face generally many economic issues since they can always support each other and even share their businesses together in some instances. Now for the drawbacks, it definitely comes down to the fact that the younger generation ends up over-relying on the older, previous generation since it's very easy to just live in an extended family and have immediate support and easy access to everything. This in turn makes them less responsible and less mature than their other peers.
