I suppose consumerism plays a prominent role in driving a country's economy. On the positive side, when people spend money on products, it can encourage businesses to launch more products, creating jobs that contribute to economic growth meaningfully. On the negative side, when the demand for certain products rises and the country cannot meet the demand, it may result in relying too much on imports. It can also lead to unsustainable practices such as overproduction, which can deplete natural resources.
