That's a difficult question for me. Um, but I would say that it is easily recognized. The big difference between sitting beside someone who keeps talking on the phone and someone who keeps talking to you is that the person on the phone is very disengaging. I mean, they just focus on their call and don't seem to care much about you. On the other hand, someone who keeps talking to you is more engaging. To be specific, he or she has a direct conversation with you, and you guys can keep talking until you both feel comfortable with the information you're sharing.
