There are many potential long-term consequences associated with the increasing reliance on social media, especially for communication. First, there are concerns about fraud and scams, which are highly unavoidable, especially if one falls victim to them. For example, I had a friend who had her phone stolen, and the person used her social media to hack her account and even started chatting with some of her friends. I was one of the victims, and she asked me for my bank account and very personal information that I normally wouldn't have shared with anyone. But since she was a friend, I trusted her and provided some personal details that eventually harmed me. This is a very unavoidable consequence that I believe will continue to rise, especially as people increasingly rely on social media.
