In my opinion, besides technology, young people can teach older people how to use public transportation or shop in the supermarket. This way, they don't need their children's support. They can do everything by themselves, becoming more independent and reducing the burden on family members. For example, if elderly people can travel by public transport, they can easily find somewhere to relax or go somewhere without needing others. This allows them to reduce stress, get some physical activity, and enjoy their independence.
