There are lots of differences between salaries for mental work and physical work. In my opinion, the main reason is that people in mental jobs are more educated, need special education, and tend to earn much more. On the other hand, people who work in the physical field are not required to have an educational degree. In addition, mental work is connected to technology or business, and such fields are in higher demand than the physical ones.
