Well, speaking from my perspective, I don't think that trying new things depends on your age, whether you are young or old. I don't think this is the case. From my perspective, I think it's all about your personality. If you are the type of person who likes to do new things, experience, and live your life to the fullest, then it doesn't matter whether you are old or young; you will not avoid doing or achieving new kinds of experiences. For example, I think that even when I get old, I will still try my best to experience or try new things, just as I am doing currently right now.
