I can’t say that I was given much choice as far as my future career path is concerned. Both my parents and my elder sister chose teaching as their profession. And since my early childhood I watched them working and living this life. Most of my free time I spent in the walls of the university where they were working. I liked the atmosphere and couldn’t actually imagine my life doing anything else but teaching. I always thought that this job is very rewarding. I could see how happy they are, helping students, improving their level. And I saw the gratitude of the students towards them and I thought that this was very exciting. It was an exciting life. In a way I followed in my parents’ footsteps. What I did choose was the specialty because my mother taught foreign languages and I thought that this is the most exciting thing to do in teaching because you have a chance to travel and communicate with people of different cultural background. You can actually have multiple personalities in a way because when you learn a language you acquire an additional personality. I thought that this is something that I would like to do in life.
