There can be different causes for various people, but the common one is the lack of self-confidence, I think. I see most of the time when some people ask for something about their manners or their looks. I feel she has a lack of self-confidence. She wants to verify her views with someone else. She wants to hear about her manners, corrections, or her decisions. They like to comment on their decisions and show their true feelings or make them feel safe when they say it's okay or it's not okay.
