Well, one of the main reasons is that people get the chance to enjoy various activities with their friends or family. During holidays, people have free time and there is no extra pressure from work, which makes it very helpful to spend time with their family. They can go to a city for dinner at a high-class restaurant, watch a movie, or visit a park. In a countryside area, you will not find these opportunities, but in a city, you can easily access them. So, I guess this is the main reason. Although it depends from person to person, this is one of the compelling reasons why people prefer cities for visiting, especially during their holidays.
